You may have noticed the new look chez raincoaster media today. Time to move into the 21st Century with a fresh look, methinks. We’re trying out some new themes, so let us know what you think of them in the comments. This is Inuit Types:
It gets away from the linear, rather dated-looking, bloggy format of Freshy that we had before. Still, I do feel rather naked without my header, and the sidebar is more eye-catching than the actual posts. That can’t be right, can it?
Thoughts?
Look out, here comes tomorrow!

Just changed it to one featured post and the default colour scheme instead of blue and white

In your case, I’d actually ADD more featured posts on the front page (because they are so damn eye-catching) and then let the next page fall off to the standard display.

But that means farting around with the stupid squashy Featured Image thingy. And Featured Images can’t be good for SEO, not as good as regular images. AND Featured Images can’t be linked to external sites because people click on the image to get to the post, and you don’t want to throw them off your site.
I hate Featured Images, can you tell?

I guess! But…why is this a problem? Featured POSTs (with featured image) on your homepage in Inuit Types load the actual post when people click on them. Whatever image you insert in your post can be linked to whatever as previously, provided, of course, you don’t use the “Single Post featured image” setting available in Inuit Types.

That was the problem exactly. Okay, I’ll kill that setting and play around with it. I really don’t want to go back and choose a Featured Image for every single post though.
