POSITION: Membership Consultant – Vancouver Board of Trade
ONE YEAR TERM CONTRACT: One year from date of hiring
A dynamic, high-profile customer service role with the largest and most active business association in BC.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Membership Consultant is responsible for increasing the retention rate of first year members of the Vancouver Board of Trade, and for promoting and enhancing the status and reputation of The Board through participation in The Board’s various activities and programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve established retention targets.
  • Attend all Members’ Orientations.
  • Work at Board events and trade shows as assigned.
  • Attend all sales meetings.
  • Maintain regular contact with first year members in order to provide assistance, gather information and feedback
  • Liaise with staff to answer questions from first year members, and to provide staff with feedback from members.
  • Liaise with Membership Services with regards to renewal of first year memberships.
  • Complete and submit weekly reports on activity and communication with members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Professional experience in customer service or sales is an asset
  • Knowledge of the Vancouver Board of Trade and it’s programs is an asset

Education/Training:

  • Minimum Grade 12 with post-secondary education preferred
  • Training and development with emphasis on customer service

Intermediate Level

  • Microsoft office & other software related to position

SPECIAL FACTORS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Some lifting and transportation of books, banners, signage etc. to events.
  • Some evening work required.
